What is Growth Group?

Growth Group is the name that our church family has given to a specific ministry effort to disciple and serve one another on a more personal level.  During Growth Group our church family gathers into smaller groups to talk with one another over the Scriptures and about the work that God is doing in our lives.  We also spend extended time in prayer for the needs of individual believers in our body, for our ministry partners, and for the ministry of our local church in our community, asking for our Father’s will to be done and His kingdom to be advanced among us and through us.  Growth Group is lead by a man whom the church leadership team has selected, and the discussion is typically guided by a series of application questions that are provided with the sermon outline from the previous Sunday.  This way Growth Group provides an effective opportunity for believers to work together to carefully digest and thoughtfully apply the Word of God that is preached during the corporate gatherings.  Sometimes people have questions or comments that they would like to share about the sermon, and this is a perfect opportunity for such discussions.  Growth Group also provides a wonderful opportunity for Christian friendships to develop.  Very often personal needs are discovered and met as well as recreational activities are enjoyed through the venue of Growth Group.  The blessings of exercising our spiritual gifts and loving one another in so many different ways can be realized and enjoyed through Growth Group.  If you are interested in becoming a part of a Growth Group please contact the church office (906-786-6323) and let us know.  There are Growth Groups that meet in different locations and at different times throughout the week and we will do our best to suggest a Growth Group that will be an encouragement to you.

Romans 15:14 - [14] I myself am satisfied about you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge and able to instruct one another.

Romans 12:3-13 - [3] For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. [4] For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, [5] so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. [6] Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; [7] if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; [8] the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness. [9] Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. [10] Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. [11] Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. [12] Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. [13] Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.
